Kansas City AI Club's commitment to the women building our industry's future

AI is being built right now, in Kansas City, by people who don't all look the same — and that's exactly the point. Women in AI is our standing commitment to make sure the women writing code, running data teams, founding companies, and shaping policy in this region get the visibility, the network, and the seat at the table they've earned. This isn't a one-off initiative — it's baked into how we run the club.

The stakes are bigger than optics. The systems we're building today will make decisions about hiring, healthcare, lending, and safety for decades to come. Rooms that only reflect one set of experiences build tools with one set of blind spots. We'd rather build AI that works for everyone — which means the people building it need to reflect everyone.

So we're putting our name behind it, not just our newsletter. Every year we recognize the Kansas City women pushing this field forward through our Women in AI awards, we open the floor to new voices through our speaker program, and we bring the whole community together for a dedicated event — this year, on October 8th. Three ways in, one goal: more women leading in AI, and more of Kansas City getting to see it happen.
