Recognizing the women building AI in Kansas City

Women across Kansas City are running data teams, shipping products, founding companies, teaching the engineers coming up next, and shaping how this technology gets used here. The Women in AI Awards put that work on the record. Most of that work happens without much fanfare. These awards are our way of saying it out loud. This is the first year. Nominations are open now, and anyone can submit one.

The First Women in AI Awards

Six awards, covering everything from students just getting started to the people running AI inside large organizations. We are looking for specifics: what she built, what changed because of it, and who it helped.

Nominations close Sunday, September 27. Finalists and winners will be recognized at our Women in AI event on October 8th.

Award Categories

Rising Star Award. For a student or early career professional who is showing real promise in AI.

Community & Education Impact Award. For work that advances AI education, workforce development, public understanding, and community engagement.

Small & Medium Business AI Impact Award. For measurable business value created with AI inside a small or mid-sized company.

Enterprise AI Leadership Award. For leadership in AI strategy, governance, rollout, or new ideas inside a larger organization.

Founder, Advisor & Entrepreneur Award. For women building AI businesses, products, services, or advisory practices.

Women's AI Champion Award. Our top award, for someone whose work has moved AI forward across Kansas City, through innovation, adoption, education, leadership, or community.

Who Can Be Nominated

Nominees need to live or work in the Kansas City metro. Colleagues, peers, leaders, educators, community advocates, entrepreneurs, and students all count. Anyone can send in a nomination, including the nominee herself. If the work is yours, put your own name in.
